Service:

East Bay Paratransit provides service in Western Contra Costa County in the cities and towns of El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Kensington, parts of Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo that are served by AC Transit and BART. Service is limited to areas within 3/4 mile of an operating bus route or BART station. Because East Bay Paratransit also serves people in Alameda County you can schedule trips across county lines with the same operator.


Service Hours:

Service is provided during the hours of AC Transit's bus and BART rail operations.


Eligibility:

In order to be eligible for East Bay Paratransit service you must reside in Western Contra Costa County. It must be determined that you are eligible for paratransit services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). A person can be found to be ADA paratransit eligible for all or for some of their transit trips, based on the individual's specific condition(s).

Bring your completed application with you. The application is available on-line or by calling (800) 555-8085. In some cases your healthcare professional will be contacted for more information.

Service:

Mobility Matters operates two volunteer driver programs that provide free, one on one, door through door, escorted rides by screened and trained volunteer drivers using their own cars. Ambulatory members may bring/use their own equipment. Members who use a wheelchair may be accommodated with our wheelchair accessible van


Eligibility--Rides for Seniors:

  • Live anywhere in Contra Costa County
  • Age 60 or older
  • Require escorted, door through door assistance
  • Able to call in to request rides
  • Unable to use other forms of transportation for medical or dental care and basic necessities, like grocery shopping
  • Trained, certified service dogs welcome


Eligibility--Rides 4 Veterans:

  • Honorably discharged veterans of any age
  • Live anywhere in Contra Costa County
  • Require escorted, door through door assistance
  • Able to call in to request rides
  • Unable to use other forms of transportation for medical or dental care and basic necessities, like grocery shopping
  • Trained, certified service dogs welcome


Application:

Telephone interview with a follow up in home assessment. The application to be completed by a staff member.

Rides For Seniors / Mobility Matters
 
Eligibility:

Eligibility is divided into resident and non-resident depending upon applicant’s address within San Pablo’s jurisdiction. Must be 50 years or older; or be a person with a disability age 18+. (We require doctor’s note certifying your disability).


Service Area:

San Pablo and surrounding areas, limited locations such as Kaiser in Richmond and Kaiser in Pinole.


Hours of Operation:

Shuttle Service:
Weekdays: 9:00 am - 3:45 pm

Office Hours:
Weekdays: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm


Application:

An application must be completed. New applications require a government issued ID or a photo ID with utility bill to verify residency.


Fees:

FFees are subject to change. Resident fees are $2 per ride and $4 round trip; non-residents fee is $4 per ride and $8 round trip. Riders can purchase a book of tickets from the San Pablo Senior Center (1943 Church Lane). Resident book cost is $20; non-resident book is $40. They can be purchased by check or cash.
